Kingston, ON, September 4, 2025 — Providence Village (“the Village”) is pleased to welcome Kingston School of Art (KSOA) as its newest partner and subtenant. In late September, KSOA will move into space in the newly renovated west wing of Providence Motherhouse, joining a growing network of mission-driven non-profits delivering health and wellness programs and services to Kingston and surrounding area.
The new location at Providence Village will enable KSOA to expand and strengthen its programming with a dedicated printmaking studio equipped with professional presses, as well as a flexible multi-purpose space for classes and workshops. This move strengthens KSOA’s ongoing commitment to providing accessible, affordable arts programming to people of all ages and skill levels, while adding a new dimension of wellbeing to the Village.
“We are pleased to welcome Kingston School of Art to Providence Village,” says Laurie French, President & CEO of Providence Village. “KSOA embodies the wellness aspect of our vision for the Village by providing accessible arts programs that inspire creativity, connection, and wellbeing. Alongside our health and social service subtenant organizations, they are vital partners in the Village’s growing community of care. We are proud to support KSOA in this exciting next chapter.”
Celebrating 30 years of creativity, connection and inspiration, KSOA has long been a cornerstone of community arts education in Kingston. In its next chapter as part of Providence Village, KSOA will benefit from increased accessibility for students and artists, opportunities to collaborate with other non-profit partners, capacity to expand and strengthen printmaking programming offerings, and a sustainable foundation for growth.
“We are so pleased to join the community of organizations that call Providence Village their home,” added Christianne Wojcik, KSOA Board President. “This relocation aligns with KSOA’s mission to make quality visual arts instruction accessible and we look forward to reaching new students, arts educators, and volunteers as we settle into our new studio spaces. Providence Village is a beautiful, inclusive space for us to create, find wellbeing, and build connection through art.”
Looking ahead, KSOA is evolving to better meet the needs of the community through a new program model that will begin rolling out in the coming months—designed to be more accessible, flexible, and tailored to what the community truly needs. Stay tuned for updates as KSOA introduces these changes.
