Kingston, ON, January 7, 2025 – Providence Village (“the Village”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Tompkins to its Board of Directors, effective December 19, 2024. Julie brings more than 30 years of experience in strategic communications and corporate services, having held several senior roles at Empire Life, most recently as Vice-President of Corporate Services and Chief Communications Officer.
“Julie’s extensive experience in strategic leadership and communications and her passion for community development will be a tremendous asset to our Board of Directors,” said Brian Hogan, Chair, Providence Village Board of Directors. “Her expertise and commitment to enhancing the Kingston community will help guide Providence Village as we continue to expand and deepen our impact in the region.”
Throughout her distinguished career at Empire Life, Julie played a pivotal role in shaping strategic planning and overseeing complex operations across facilities management, community investment, and communication services. Beyond her professional achievements, Julie is committed to community development and wellbeing. She has actively engaged in various volunteer roles, contributing her expertise to organizations such as Pathways to Education Canada, the St. Lawrence College Foundation, H’art Centre, the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation, and the Downtown Kingston Board of Management, among others. Julie’s impressive career and dedication to enhancing the community has been recognized through her nomination by St. Lawrence College for the Ontario Premier’s Award for Outstanding College Graduates.
