We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Providence Village team, Marie-Jo Cleghorn, who will be taking on the role of Director of Care. Marie-Jo brings a wealth of experience and a passion for health care to our community, where she will oversee the care of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul residing at the Providence Motherhouse.
Marie-Jo is a dedicated and accomplished health-care professional. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queen’s University, along with a Master of Health Science, focusing on adult learning principles and nurse education. Her diverse career has spanned community, acute, and sub-acute care, where she has served as a bedside nurse, educator, and manager. Her commitment to people, team building, and empowering others is at the heart of her work, and she considers caring for the vulnerable a privilege.
In her role as Director of Care, Marie-Jo will report directly to Laurie French, Providence Village’s President & CEO, providing leadership and management for all aspects of nursing and personal support services. She will ensure holistic, compassionate care for the Sisters, integrating the mission and core values of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, while respecting the individuality and dignity of each Sister and co-worker in a multifaith-based environment.
Marie-Jo is excited to join Providence Village and is eager to get to know the community. We are confident that her expertise and dedication will greatly contribute to the continued compassionate care of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul.
